Renowned dancehall artist Kemar Christopher Dwaine Ottey, popularly known as Ding Dong, has set the dancehall scene abuzz with his latest single, “Danca Bwoy.”

“The track, which delves into Ding Dong’s journey in the music industry, highlights his achievements and addresses the criticisms he has faced throughout his career,” Jamaican-born entertainment publicist Ronnie Tomlinson told Caribbean Life on Tuesday.

“Through ‘Danca Bwoy,’ Ding Dong sheds light on the nickname bestowed upon him by many in the industry, reflecting on the negative side of the moniker, while providing a rebuttal by highlighting his numerous hit singles, corporate endorsements, and groundbreaking dances that have reshaped the dancehall culture,” added the Brooklyn resident, who serves as CEO of Destine Media. “The song serves as a bold response to critics who underestimate his influence in the genre.”

As the founder of the Ravers Clavers dance group and a versatile performer who has seamlessly transitioned from dancer to recording artist, Tomlinson said Ding Dong has solidified his status as a trailblazer in the music industry.

With chart-topping hits like “Bad Man Forward Bad Man Pull Up,” “Holiday,” “Fling” and “Watch Dem,” she said he continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his infectious energy and magnetic stage presence.

“Beyond his musical accomplishments, Ding Dong’s role as a cultural ambassador for Jamaican dancehall and reggae remains unparalleled,” Tomlinson said. “His dedication to uplifting the youth and promoting Caribbean music on a global scale has earned him widespread acclaim and admiration.

“Beginning 2025 with a strong start, fans can expect a plethora of music and continuous hits from Ding Dong,” she added. “As he progresses in his career, there is no doubt that Ding Dong’s unwavering determination will lead him to greater heights of success.

“Regardless of challenges, Ding Dong’s resilience and dedication to pushing artistic boundaries demonstrate his enduring passion for music and dance,” Tomlinson continued. “As he forges ahead in his career, it is evident that Ding Dong’s unwavering drive will propel him to even greater heights of success.”

“Danca Bwoy” is now available on all major streaming platforms, Tomlinson said, “offering fans a glimpse into Ding Dong’s artistic evolution and unrelenting spirit.”
