Young entrepreneurs open Black luxury spa catering to women of color in Queens

In a remarkable entrepreneurial feat, two young visionaries, aged 23 and 25, have unveiled a haven of opulence with the launch of a black luxury spa – Play Bar. Nia Marie, a 25-year-old professional aesthetician of Guyanese descent, joined forces with her 23-year-old business partner Ashley Small, to bring a touch of elegance and tailored pampering to women of color.

This venture is more than a business; it is a passion project that reflects the dedication and investment the young entrepreneurs have poured into creating a space where women can unwind and indulge in luxury. The spa is not just about pampering; it’s a sanctuary that recognizes the unique needs of women of color, providing specialized treatments for their hair, skin, and nails.

Nia Marie, drawing inspiration from her own experiences, noticed a void in the availability of luxury spaces designed for women of color. Determined to fill this gap, she embarked on this journey to establish a spa that caters specifically to the needs of black women.”Our goal is to provide more than just a service; we want to create an experience. Every woman deserves to feel pampered and catered to, and our spa is here to make that a reality,” expressed Marie.

The spa, adorned with a carefully curated aesthetic, exudes a tranquil atmosphere, inviting patrons to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s not merely a place for beauty treatments; it’s a community hub where women can come together, share stories, and build lasting bonds.

Beyond providing a haven for relaxation, the young entrepreneurs are making significant strides in job creation and providing opportunities for others within the community. Their commitment to empowering women goes beyond the spa’s doors, with a vision to expand their services to other states, bringing their unique brand of luxury to a broader audience.

“We want to redefine luxury for women of color, and our vision includes expanding our reach so that more women can experience the care and attention they deserve,” added Marie.

As the black luxury spa opens its doors, it not only marks a milestone for these ambitious young women but also sets a precedent for inclusivity and excellence in the beauty and wellness industry. The play bar is located at 64-73 Dry Harbor Rd., Queens, New York, you can call them at 347-802-2034 or follow them on Instagram @ playbar_ny

The young businesswomen invite all women to step into their sanctuary, unwind, and embrace the luxury they truly deserve.
