WI Women avoid a South Africa Whitewash

It took a dramatic super over for West Indies women to avoid a humiliating whitewash in their recent five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against South Africa Women at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.
Defending 193 in the fifth ODI, opener Rashada Williams struck an excellent unbeaten 78, West Indies women were facing defeat after Lizelle Lee stroked 61 and Tazmin Brits hit 48, to propel the visitors to 111 without loss just after the halfway stage of the innings.
But off-spinner Sheneta Grimmond snatched four wickets for 33 runs and 20-year-old seamer Quina Joseph took two for 29, as the Proteas collasped spectacularly, despite a quick 46 from Mignon du Preez remained at the crease, the odds appeared in South Africa’s favor and they entered the final over requiring only six runs for victory to complete a 5-0 whitewash of West Indies.
