West Indies Women finish top of the table to win series

West Indies Women won the Evara Tri-Nation T20I Series following the abandonment of the final match between Ireland Women and Pakistan Women in Ireland.
West Indies Women and Ireland Women both concluded the tournament on 10 points, with each side registering two victories, one loss and one no result.
However, the West Indies Women were able to secure the title based on a superior net run rate (NRR) of 1.839 as compared to Ireland’s -1.171.
West Indies Women started the series strongly, beating Ireland Women and Pakistan Women in their first two matches, before narrowly losing to Ireland by one run under the Duckworth/Lewis/Stern method in their third match. Their fourth match against Pakistan was also washed out due to rain.
Ireland Women had a chance to win the series if they defeated Pakistan Women in their final match, but persistent rain at Castle Avenue led to the game being abandoned.
Pakistan Women finished the series without a win, ending at the bottom of the table after two losses and two no-results.
The outcome is expected to strengthen confidence for the West Indies Women ahead of the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup starting June 12, where they will open their campaign against New Zealand Women on June 13.
