T&T stays unbeaten in CWU17Q

Both Trinidad and Tobago and El Salvador stayed unbeaten with victories on Monday in CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship Qualifying.

CONCACAF said on Tuesday that Trinidad and Tobago made it two wins in two matches in Group A with a 4-0 win over Cayman Islands at the Stadion Rignaal Jean Francisca in Willemstad, Curacao.

“J’Eleisha Alexander opened the scoring in the 12’, followed by second half goals from Nikita Gosine (60’), Cherina Steele (88’) and Daneelyah Salandy (90+1’),” CONCACAF said.

It said El Salvador also have six points through two games thanks to a 7-0 win over Curacao at the Stadion Rignaal Jean Francisca.

CONCACAF said Jasmine Diaz (45+2’, 77’) “bagged a brace” and was joined on the scoresheet by Genesis Carpio (9’), Giselle Marquez (72’), Keila Lino (81’), Alyssa Jurado (90+2’) and Janelle Torres (90+5’).

Bermuda picked up its first win of the tournament in a 4-1 final over Dominica in Group F play at the Estadio Olimpico Felix Sanchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, CONCACAF said.

It said Le-Myah Forde gave Dominican a 1-0 lead in the 12’, but, after that, “it was all Bermuda, beginning with Camryn Lines equalizing 1-1 in the 14’. Keyandae Lightbourne made it 2-1 in the 35’ before scoring her second of the day in the 45+2’.”

CONCACAF said Avani Patton would round out the 4-1 scoreline with a goal in the 90+3’.
