Minna LaFortune ‘Mek A Money’
Jamaican Minna LaFortune, the rising star in the music industry, has just released her sixth hot single, “Mek A Money,” which is already receiving rave reviews from her fans.
This energetic and entertaining reggae song is the first track Minna wrote and recorded as a new recording artist in March 2022.
LaFortune, said “Mek A Money” is “an inspiring and motivational song that touches on the importance of having a vision, inspiration, tradition, community, peace, and love.”
In a world that often prioritizes making money at the expense of these values, Minna’s message is a powerful reminder of their significance.
The single, which features a fusion of reggae and dancehall rhythms, includes interjections from a male voice in the style of 1980s dancehall DJing, making it more dynamic and interesting.
LaFortune said the song was inspired by a conversation she had with Lee and Donnel Holness about the state of the music and cultural industries in the Caribbean and the world. Lee Holness is also LaFortune’s producer.
LaFortune’s discography now boasts six hot singles, each with a diverse range of musical styles and genres, including soca, ska, reggae, reggae and rap fusion, and reggae and dancehall fusion.
Along with each track, LaFortune has also created and released six music videos, which are available on her YouTube channel.
The music video for “Mek A Money” debuted on Minna LaFortune’s YouTube channel on March 27 and, in the first four hours of its release, it garnered 2,000 views, LaFortune said.
She said the video is on track to surpass the 31,000 views of her last music video for her song “My Secret Valentine.”
LaFortune has completed a whole album entitled “Dance With Me” and plans to release her first EP by May 30, 2023.
She is also interested in receiving more airplay on college radios, internet radios, and mainstream radio stations.
