‘Know yah culture’ Mashramani soiree set for Woodbine Ballroom

The stage is set for what is expected to be a sold-out fundraising event, in celebration of Guyana’s 52nd Republic Anniversary and Mashramani soiree, thanks to the efforts of the Guyanese Promoters of USA, who will bring together a professional group of musicians, and Dee Jays.

Founder and President of the Guyana American Heritage Foundation of New Jersey, Lady Ira Lewis, is one of the organizers of the event planned for Saturday, Feb. 26 from 9 pm, at Woodbine Ballroom, 2281 Church Ave., corner of Bedford Avenue.

She told Caribbean Life; the Mash Dance themed: “Know Ya Culture” will feature the Goldstone Family Guyana’s finest musicians.

Additionally, the Lady Ira presents event will bring King Aquarius with DJ Bigman, Super Terry — One Man Band, and Soca Monarch Adrian Dutchin, to the stage for live, exciting revelry, Mashramani style, at the hours long event.

Since most of the coronavirus mandates have been lifted, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul, who lifted statewide mask-or-vaccine mandates for indoor businesses from Feb. 10, Lady Ira Lewis, a prominent entertainment promoter in the Guyanese community, said all Guyanese and friends are welcome to celebrate at the dance.

Guyana that became a Republic on Feb. 23, 1970, celebrates a rich cultural diversity through various events across the country. As such, this event will bring colorful splendor to the borough of Brooklyn.
