Haitian American Debbie Esther Louis honored

Haitian American Debbie Esther Louis, community organizer and chief of staff to the Assembly Member Brian A. Cunningham was among honorees at the “I Am Beautiful Award Ceremony” event that took place on Saturday Jan. 28, 2023, at the K&L Manor at 4501 Glenwood Rd., Brooklyn, NY 11203.

“I am honored to be selected as an honoree for the ‘I Am Beautiful Conference Award Ceremony!’ It has been a privilege to work in the community for the past 12 years and I am grateful for this opportunity,” said Louis upon receiving her award.

Louis is a member of the Haitian American Caucus and serves as a junior board member of the Church Avenue Merchants Block Association. She also has received a master’s degree at Touro College and is completing her second degree, an MPA at Baruch College. Debbie is a community leader and staunch advocate for civic engagement. Serving as the secretary of the Kings County Democrats for the Committee County, she finds herself busy wearing many hats.
When she is not in the community, she can be found teaching at York College, as an adjunct professor.

“I Am Beautiful” Conference Award Ceremony was hosted by Apostle Dr. Chloe Natacha, chief executive officer of ANS Association, Chloe Natacha International Ministries and Nicole Aurelien Youth Foundation. Apostle Dr. Natacha earned her B.S. and MHA from the University of Phoenix as well as a Doctorate of Christian Education from Trinity Theology Seminary of South Florida.

“I Am Beautiful” Conference Award Ceremony, celebrates and empowers amazing people who are making a positive difference in the community. Apostle Dr. Natacha has made it a life mission to encourage men, women, and the youth. Her main goal is to explore the world and create a worldwide brotherhood and sisterhood. Moreover, to provide individuals with education, mentorship, resources, and development assistance. In addition, she wants to leave a legacy for her children.

During her interview with Caribbean Life, she said, “Nicole Aurelien Youth Foundation is in memory of my mother who raised 40 children who weren’t her biological children. The purpose of the foundation is to empower youth, bring self-awareness, prepare them for the future, and develop extracurricular activities for children of all demographic backgrounds.”
Moreover, Chloe Natacha International Ministries is an international Christian based missionary organization that provides biblical training, resources worldwide, including food, clothing, and educational materials.

She further stated, “My inspiration and motivation behind the “I Am Beautiful” Conference Award Ceremony is to remind individuals of all walks of life that they are valuable and to encourage them to explore their gifts and talents. My objective is to highlight the work and efforts of individuals who are making an impact in their community. Honoring them publicly brings awareness to the community at large as well as encourages them to continue their endeavors.”

“I Am Beautiful” Conference Award Ceremony takes place every year. As such Louis and all the honorees deserve recognition and awards for their outstanding achievements. All honorees were presented with proclamations and citations that were provided by several elected officials including Assembly Member Brian A. Cunningham, Senator Kevin Parker, Congress Woman Yvette D. Clarke, Senator Roxanne Persaud, Council Member Rita Joseph, Assembly Member Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, and Council Member Farah Louis.
