According to Attorney Christopher Brown, his client Bobby Brown, no relation, did not perform on the Legacy Tour in Houston and Dallas with the rest of the New Edition because he was “exhausted.” Brown issued the statement, “To my New Edition Texas fans. I love you and I’m sorry I missed you this weekend. San Diego be ready! You will get the best of and my New Edition brothers.” The San Diego date was April 6.
Although the “My Prerogative” crooner didn’t perform On April 1 in Houston, he reportedly had enough energy to promote his new venture Bobby Brown Foods. According to the Houston Press, Brown made an appearance at Faces Ultra Lounge off Almeda. Other fans gathered at Bar 5015 across the street for drinks and food as they waited for him to arrive. Bobby Brown Foods include hot sauce, BBQ sauce, seasoned fry mix, various seasonings and coffee.
On April 4, the stars and creative team of the upcoming Disney + Original series “The Crossover” celebrated the series premiere with an orange carpet at the historic Hollywood Athletic Club in Los Angeles. Stars of the series Jalyn Hall, Amir O’Neil, Derek Luke and others walked the orange carpet, along with co-showrunners and executive producers Kwame Alexander, Damani Johnson and Kimberly Harris.
“The Crossover,” which debuted April 5, based on the bestselling novel by Kwame Alexander, follows twin middle school basketball phenoms Jordan “J.B.” and Josh “Filthy” Bell as they struggle with growing up, growing apart, and finding themselves — on and off the court.

Black Girl Magic took center stage at In-Front Strategies’ 5th Annual Entrepreneur Luncheon. Hosted by NY Beauty Suites, Vanguarde and powered by NYC EDC’s Women NYC, the annual gathering took place at ARA Wellness Space in Brooklyn, NY and featured a powerhouse full of fashionable women of color.

On April 1, Emmy winner Colman Domingo hosted a “Juicy Disco” celebration in honor of Pulitzer Prize winning comedy Fat Ham by James ljames ahead of the show’s Broadway opening on April 12 at the American Airlines Theatre. The event included a 3D shimmering skull social booth, art experience, and a “Juicy Gossip” wall inspired by the play. Guests enjoyed themed cocktails from Diageo, Southern barbecue at “Colman’s Cookout,” and sweet treats at “Gimme Some Sugar” candy station. The evening’s music was curated by DJ Lina Bradford.
