Bed Stuy Gateway BID collaborates with Moshood for winter fashion showcase

Bed Stuy Gateway BID Winter Wonderland, presented by Wells Fargo, recently joined forces with Brooklyn premier designer Moshood for an exclusive winter fashion showcase.

According to Bed Stuy Gateway BID, “some of the Borough of Kings brightest faces took to the runway sporting signature looks from the legendary designer’s latest collection.”

Items included bold denim, caped ponchos, prairie skirts, plaid tops and other chic items emblazoned with Moshood’s signature mask.

In addition to the fashion forward showcase, Dale Charles, Bed Stuy Gateway BID executive director and Jonathan Nowlin, Moody Nolan, architect, suited up as the “Clauses” for a festive toy giveaway.

“Children young and old stopped by Santa’s cove for specially wrapped gift items, while parents patronized the various vendors and crafters along the Winter Wonderland stroll,” said Bed Stuy Gateway BID in a statement.

“Patrons were also able to hop aboard The Bed Stuy Gateway BID Winter Wonderland Trolley to visit various shops and merchants throughout its business district,” it added.

Bed Stuy Gateway BID said the festive outdoor holiday shopping experience provided local merchants “an opportunity to increase foot-traffic, while offering crafters, creatives, and small business owners a viable platform to showcase and sell their goods and services.”

Winter Wonderland is a collaboration with Neighborhoods Now, the initiative from the Urban Design Forum and Van Alen Institute to support local organizations leading their communities’ pandemic recovery.

Supporting partners include Con Edison, TD Bank, Van Alen Institute, Urban Design Forum, Buro Happold, Dash Marshall, Moody Nolan, Fried Frank, Gretel, Block by Block, New York City Department of Transportation, and Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation.

Centrally located in Brooklyn, the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID said it has “proudly stood as one of the borough’s most prominent commercial and cultural focal points.”

Since 2009, the agency said it has partnered with local neighbors and stakeholders “to enrich its community through economic development while promoting its rich history of cultural diversity.”

Through a wide array of programs and services, the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID said it is “committed to seeing the community thrive and blossom into the popular destination for all things Brooklyn.”
