Bed Stuy Gateway BID collaborates with Moshood for winter fashion showcase
Bed Stuy Gateway BID Winter Wonderland, presented by Wells Fargo, recently joined forces with Brooklyn premier designer Moshood for an exclusive winter fashion showcase.
According to Bed Stuy Gateway BID, โsome of the Borough of Kings brightest faces took to the runway sporting signature looks from the legendary designerโs latest collection.โ
Items included bold denim, caped ponchos, prairie skirts, plaid tops and other chic items emblazoned with Moshoodโs signature mask.ย
In addition to the fashion forward showcase, Dale Charles, Bed Stuy Gateway BID executive director and Jonathan Nowlin, Moody Nolan, architect, suited up as the โClausesโ for a festive toy giveaway.ย
โChildren young and old stopped by Santaโs cove for specially wrapped gift items, while parents patronized the various vendors and crafters along the Winter Wonderland stroll,โ said Bed Stuy Gateway BID in a statement.ย
โPatrons were also able to hop aboard The Bed Stuy Gateway BID Winter Wonderland Trolley to visit various shops and merchants throughout its business district,โ it added.ย ย
Bed Stuy Gateway BID said the festive outdoor holiday shopping experience provided local merchants โan opportunity to increase foot-traffic, while offering crafters, creatives, and small business owners a viable platform to showcase and sell their goods and services.โ
Winter Wonderland is a collaboration with Neighborhoods Now, the initiative from the Urban Design Forum and Van Alen Institute to support local organizations leading their communitiesโ pandemic recovery.ย
Supporting partners include Con Edison, TD Bank, Van Alen Institute, Urban Design Forum, Buro Happold, Dash Marshall, Moody Nolan, Fried Frank, Gretel, Block by Block, New York City Department of Transportation, and Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation.ย
Centrally located in Brooklyn, the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID said it has โproudly stood as one of the boroughโs most prominent commercial and cultural focal points.โ
Since 2009, the agency said it has partnered with local neighbors and stakeholders โto enrich its community through economic development while promoting its rich history of cultural diversity.โย
