Australia wins maiden T20 World Cup

Australia clinched its maiden Twenty20 World Cup title after beating New Zealand in the finals on Sunday in Dubai, UAE.
David Warner and Mitchell Marsh smashed fifties to an eight-wicket victory against the Black Caps with seven balls to spare.
Warner smashed 55 to drive Australia chase, while Marsh hit 77 not out.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson’s 85 off 48 balls fired his side to a strong 172 for 4 in a rematch of the final of the 2015 ODI World Cup between the two rivals.

Williamson, dropped by Josh Hazlewood at fine leg, cut loose Mitchell Starc, who returned 0-60 in his four overs — the most expensive figures in a T20 World Cup.

Like in that contest in Melbourne four years ago, Australia triumphed again this time with seven balls to spare.
Reigning world Test champion New Zealand finished runners-up to hosts England in the 2019 ODI World Cup as well.
Australia have not lost to New Zealand in a knockout game over the last 40 years.
Warner was voted Player of the Tournament, while Marsh got the Player of the Tournament trophy.
