Antigua PM breaks regionโ€™s silence on US embargo on Venezuelan oil exports

With the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) having remained largely mum over the United Statesโ€™ protracted embargo on Venezuelaโ€™s international oil exports, a circumstance that has crippled the countryโ€™s economy the Head of Government of one of the smaller territories in the region has publicly declared his administrationโ€™s opposition to the squeeze imposed on the export on oil exports from the South American nation.
ย While member countries of the region have, up until now, sought to steer clear of the issue,ย  Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Brown last week broke the regionโ€™s almost deafening silence, asserting that the retention of the sanctions on Venezuelaโ€™s oil exports is โ€œhurting others within the region.โ€
