It was hard for viewers to keep count of Cardi B’s wardrobe changes when she hosted the  2021 American Music Awards. The Grammy award-winning femcee made her hosting debut at the AMAS, which took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 21. “This crowd is loud, ” Cardi told the audience. “I ain’t gonna lie. I’m a little nervous.” The Bronx, New York, born raptress had a very busy night between costume changes, hosting duties and winning her own award. Cardi’s eight different looks included a black Schiaparelli number, which she accessorized with a mask and gloves,  a figure hugging gown by Christian Siriano, arriving on stage perched on top of Louis Vuitton luggage, and a sheer yellow ensemble by Jean Paul Gaultier, which she donned to accept the award for Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Song for “Up”!

Following coast-to-coast publicity rounds at premieres for King Richard, the biopic starring Will Smith as their father Richard Williams, Venus and Serena Williams, reportedly headed to the Bahamas, with several family members- including their mother, Oracene, Serena’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter, Olympia. Tongues are wagging that the family stayed on a yacht docked at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, where their water activities included visiting a shark petting pond.

Fun was had by all that gathered to “Celebrate Aretha” on Nov.17. Marvel Allen, from the cast of Broadway’s “Hot Feet,” brought the house down with her renditions of  some of Ms. Franklin’s most memorable tunes. It was a night of joyous Gospel, Blues, Jazz and Soul, that also featured a signing of Yours Truly’s latest novel Last Call For A Deadly Diva.
