WI play England in T20 World Cup opener

It will be a replay of the 2016 Twenty20 World Cup final when West Indies play England in their opening match in Group One of the Super 12s on Oct. 23 in the 2021 International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Twenty20 World Cup.
Five years ago, West Indian Carlos Brathwaite struck Ben Stokes for consecutive sixes to win the tournament in spectacular fashion.
The match between West Indies and England will bowl off at 10 am Eastern Caribbean time in Dubai.
The tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman from Oct. 17 to Nov. 14.
West Indies Captain, Kieron Pollard will then battle South Africa on Oct. 26. On Oct. 29, West Indies will play the second placed team in Group B of the qualifiers in Sharjah.
Pollard’s team will then face the winner of Group A of the qualifiers on Nov. 4 in Abu Dhabi before closing out the preliminary phase against Australia in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 6.
West Indies won the Twenty20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016.
