Travelers to Jamaica must complete immigration form

The Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) have partnered with the Jamaica Customs Agency to make it mandatory for travelers to Jamaica to complete the Immigration/Customs (C5) Form before arriving in Jamaica.

The Immigration/Customs (C5) Form is an entry requirement for persons traveling to the island, whether they are residents in Jamaica or visiting. Passengers can submit their declarations, anytime, anywhere, using any internet-connected device. Upon completion of the form a confirmation page is sent for review, if there is an error, the form may be redone and resubmitted. The form can be completed before boarding the plane to Jamaica, in-flight if Wi-Fi is available on the aircraft and upon arrival in Jamaica.

The airport operators, airlines and other key stakeholders will ensure that passengers have access to the website to make the process an easy one. For this to happen the airports will be putting additional Wi-Fi accessibility for incoming passengers to complete the form electronically if the passenger has not already done so. Both the Norman Manley International Airport and The Sangster International, as well as the Ian Fleming Airport are being prepared with proper signage to ensure the change runs effectively.

According to report from the agency this is part of PICA’s ongoing efforts to improve the traveler’s experience in going to Jamaica by reducing waiting time at the international airports. The online form will replace the physical paper forms that is issued to travelers on the aircraft or upon arrival in Jamaica.

The form C5 must be completed by all travelers including children and there is no associated cost in completing the form. One can go to the PICA website www.pica.gov.jm look for the C5 logo and get started or visit www.enterjamaica.com
