St. Kitts, St. Lucia to co-host CPL 2022
St. Lucia and St. Kitts will co-host the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 tournament later this year.
This was revealed by CPL CEO Pete Russell while speaking at a function at Hyatt Regency, Port of Spain to hand over a donation TT$135,000 to The Shelter for Battered Women and Children.
The tenth edition of the tournament will start at the end of August and finish late September, with the dates to be confirmed.
Russell said he is hoping to hold matches in four territories with a return of crowds to the games.
“Our plan is to play in a maximum of four countries so you can sort of figure out how we’re trying to put the jigsaw together,” he said, adding that “we’ve got until August and we hope by then we will be able to come and play games safely and with crowds.”
Trinidad & Tobago hosted the 2020 edition of the tournament in a bio-secure bubble without fans while last year’s tournament was played in St. Kitts.
