Glenroy March launches his book ‘The Allure’ at Jamaica Consulate
Fashion designer Glenroy March came together with patrons, and compatriots in a colorful festive style on Friday, March 10, at the Consulate General of Jamaican New York, to celebrate the launch and book-signing of “The Allure.”
The triumph coffee table book chronicles the visionary’s 20-year journey in fashion. The pages are adorned with colorful collections that have lit-up runways and showrooms across the world, most recently, at Guangzhou International Fashion Week in China and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Accra, Ghana.
Best known for his D’Marsh Couture lifestyle brand for the modern man and women, unveiled in 2003, March, an award-winning designer, was called brilliant, by Consular General Alsion Roach Wilson, who applauded the genius style creator for his fantastic designs.
She called him a resident designer, and friend, who the consulate continues to partner with on projects, while thanking March for his numerous contributions in the diaspora.

CG Wilson described the son of the soil, as an extremely kind person, and commended him on his collection of brand items of scented candles, jewelry, and outfits. “He is inspiring, his work is absolutely fantastic”, she said before presenting the designer with a Jamaican 60th Independence Anniversary memorabilia.”
“I am very happy that Glenroy was able to capture his creativity in this book, it’s a masterpiece. He is very artistic, there is beauty in everything, I can see it in everyone, and I can see it in you,” she said to March, who earlier in the evening, gifted the diplomat jewelry from his collection.
Attendees were encouraged by CG Wilson to take a closer look at “D’Marsh Couture pieces worn by models in the backdrop to observe the detailing.
March, who had asked a few friends including this reporter, to speak to the long working relationship with whom he shared, listened as Karlene Largie, corresponding secretary of the Union of Jamaica Alumni Associations (USA) Inc., (UJAA), complimented him, and thanked him for his commitment to the diaspora.

“I am very proud of you. You are committed to your passion. Thank you for always supporting (UJAA). You are a true friend. You are a wonderful individual. We love you. I am a great supporter of your brand,” said Largie, who shared that her organization sells D’Marsh candles.
The successful expert in turn, thanked his supporters, noting that over the past two decades he and his team have established themselves as a leader in the high fashion and ready-to-wear industry, consistently delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
“Our brand has become synonymous with style, innovation and sophistication, and it’s because of this we have built a loyal following of customers who trust and admire our work,” said March.
“As we celebrate this important milestone, I would like to personally take a moment to reflect on these achievements and challenges we have overcome. I hope it serves as an inspiration to others in the industry, particularly to those with whom I have the privilege of mentoring,” said March.
