Gayle joins Patriots for inaugural 6IXTY
The “Universe Boss” Chris Gayle has joined the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots for the inaugural SKYEXTH 61XTY, which gets underway on Aug. 24 at Warner Park, St .Kitts.
Gayle, brand ambassador and host for the 61XTY will have some of his teammates some of the biggest names in cricket from across the Caribbean and around the world on this innovative new format.
Gayle will be joined at the Patriot by exciting openers Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher as well as South African youngest player, Dewald Brevis.
The Patriots, who are also the defending Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) champion is expected to get a run for their money from the other squads whom also feature some big names.
A powerful Trinbago Knight Riders boasts the likes of Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Nicholas Pooran, Sunil Narine and Ravi Rampaul.
Meanwhile, the Barbados Royal team will have the talent of Jason Holder, Carl Mayers and Rakheem Cornwall along with overseas players Adam Khan, Harry Rector and Corbin Bosh.
The tournament will see six men’s team and three women’s teams competing for their own version of the “University Boss” Trophy, named in honor of Gayle and will feature several innovations to bring fans even closer to the action.
There will also be 30 balls bowled from one end before the action switches to the other end for the final 30 balls.
