French actor Depardieu strongly contests rape charges: lawyer

PARIS,  (Reuters) – French actor Gerard Depardieu strongly contests rape and sexual assault charges leveled against him, his lawyer said today, and asked that the associated investigation be allowed to proceed away from the public eye.
