Former NFL running back eyed as Bahamas ambassador
If President Donald J. Trump has his way once seated, he plans to appoint former football player Hershel Walker as the next ambassador to the Bahamas.
“Herschel has spent decades serving as an ambassador to our nation’s youth, our men and women in the military, and athletes at home and abroad,” the president-elect said when he nominated the Black Republican advocate of Make America Great Again (MAGA) propaganda.
In a social media post to his Truth Social platform, the MAGA initiator lauded the 62-year-old former athlete, describing him as “an NFL great.”
The former New Yorker’s platitudes escalated with the following: “He will make Georgia and our entire nation proud…”
As if addressing the senatorial loser, Trump added, “Because we know you will always put America first.”
Like a majority of Trump appointees, Walker has no diplomatic experience.
He emerged on the national political scene in 2022 when the controversial GOP leader endorsed his candidacy for the Georgia Senate.
Walker posed no competition for Democrat Raphael Warnock, who easily retained his seat.
The Bahamas is considered ‘an archipelago’ comprised of 700 islands, 30 of which are inhabited. The population is estimated to be between 401,283 and 414,608 who live in urban areas.
Time To Consider 2025 Resolutions
Hallelujah! The havoc and hindrances to happiness during 2024 are becoming nostalgic with anticipation of optimism and faith in the future year.
With a personal goal made at the beginning of the New Year to improve oneself, the tradition of making resolutions provides an opportunity for introspection on the outgoing Leap Year by setting positive intentions for the next 365 days.
It can be overwhelming to hope for the end of wars in the Middle East and Europe or to hold faith in the promises of a new governmental administration. However, as a safeguard, it is advisable to limit expectations for success to reasonable resolutions.
For many reasons, a commitment to doable tasks beneficial to the entire community should be the aim.
Whether it is a simple aspiration to lose weight, exercise more, or being less combative, to invest an earnest dedication to a purpose, to be true to religious values, to improve finances, to complete tasks, to improve dietary routine, to drink less alcohol, to be more organized, to devote quality family time or live fully with gratitude.
With those, this time next year, Alleluia! The Handel’s Messiah will resound conquests gained.
