DoReMi Arts & Languages school enhances the livelihood of children in the Black community
“When a child is homeschool at DoReMi we discover their talent,” stated Esther Loiseau, chief executive officer and founder of DoReMi Arts & Languages during her interview with Caribbean Life newspaper.
DoReMi Arts & Languages is a renowned private educational institution in Queens, New York located at 22915 130th Ave., that provides comprehensive music and language education to children and individuals of all ages. It offers a wide range of musical instruments for students to explore. They can learn to play the piano, clarinet, violin, guitar, cello, drum, conga, harp, and more. Additionally, it caters to students of all skill levels, offering classes for beginners, intermediates, and advanced music students.

Loiseau, who was born and raised in Haiti, has made it her life mission to strengthen her students’ creativity in arts, sculpture, music, and dance from as young as 2 years old. The children also have the opportunity to learn different languages, such as French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Creole, Mandarin, and English. These language classes are taught exclusively by native speakers to ensure an authentic and resourceful learning experience. Since its inception in 2010, DoReMi Arts & Languages is dedicated to enriching and advance the lives of their students.

“I am not afraid of throwing Chopin, Beethoven, Motzart or Bach at my students. The students always do well. We often don’t realize how much we limit our children until they attend DoReMi, where they quickly learn how to be themselves and free to learn new stuff. DoReMi teaches them how to think outside the box. Many of our homeschoolers learn how to read at the age of 2, and some have gone to college as early as 12 years old,” stated Loiseau.
DoReMi Arts & Languages also holds an annual musical show started 13 years ago where the students get to showcase their talent in music, arts, singing and dancing.

“I started with my first homeschooled student, Mabou Loiseau, her stage nickname is ‘The Supergirl,’ how to read English before she turned 2 years old. As she was turning 5, she was able to learn how to read, write and speak seven languages. She also learned how to play seven musical instruments. Mabou Loiseau had learned it all from scratch, at DoReMi Arts & Languages. After teaching her, I decided to homeschool other children as well. That was the inspiration behind establishing DoReMi Arts & Languages as a leading institution for music, arts and language education,” said the school’s founder.

“I have a team of dedicated instructors who are committed to inspire and nurture the talents of the students. Whether one’s passion lies in music, language, or both, DoReMi Arts & Languages provides a supportive and enriching environment for students to explore their interests and reach their full potential,” she said.
In addition to its home school, language and music programs, DoReMi Arts & Languages offers tutoring services including mathematics, English, writing, geography, and science. The school also provides voice lessons tailored to individual needs as their mission is to ensure that students receive a well-rounded education that extends beyond the realm of music and language.
