Dominica’s dancehall sensation Supalyne drops ‘Bounce’

Dominica’s rising dancehall artist Supalyne is back with an exciting new release that’s sure to turn heads.

Teaming up with the fierce and unapologetic $hyanne, their latest track, “Bounce,” is set to take the airwaves by storm.

Born Shain Alexander in Fond Cole, Dominica, Supalyne has been carving out a name for himself on the island and beyond with his unique blend of dancehall, reggae, hip hop and bouyon music.

Growing up in Dominica, Supalyne developed a deep love for music from a young age, watching Chris Brown’s “Run It” on BET, and eventually shaping his style by fusing elements of Caribbean rhythms with modern urban beats.

“’Bounce’ is more than just a party anthem; it’s an infectious, high-energy track that highlights Supalyne’s versatility and lyrical prowess,” Dominican entertainment promoter Jael Joseph, of ACEM, told Caribbean Life.

“Featuring a commanding performance by $hyanne, the song brings a dynamic and empowering vibe that’s bound to resonate with fans,” she added. “With its bold beats and catchy hook, ‘Bounce’ is poised to become a dancehall favourite.”

Joseph said the release comes after years of Supalyne honing his craft and gaining recognition across Dominica and the French-speaking Caribbean islands.

“His growing popularity has seen him share the stage with top artists like Skeng, Jahmiel, 450, at major events including the World Creole Music Festival and Carnival Gopwell,” said Joseph, stating that, this month, Supalyne opens up for Shaneil Muir at Independence Gopwell in Dominica.

“Supalyne’s passion for music is deeply rooted in his Caribbean culture, and his dedication to pushing the boundaries of dancehall music has positioned him as one of the island’s most versatile and promising talents,” she added.

Speaking about his journey into dancehall, Supalyne said: “I’ve always been a fan of dancehall culture, and after trying different genres, I realized that dancehall is where I feel most at home.

“My goal is simple: to become Dominica’s first international dancehall superstar,” he added.

Joseph said “Bounce” is the latest step in Supalyne’s mission to break through on the global stage, representing Dominica’s vibrant music scene.
