Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso has announced, that Borough Hall Plaza is now home to the largest holiday tree in “our history,” for all to enjoy, after the 30-ft holiday evergreen was lit on Dec. 8, in the presence of residents who crowded the tarmac.
According to a release, the BP said, “Last week more than a hundred Brooklynites joined us for caroling by Brooklyn’s Opera on Tap, as well as to light up our 30-foot holiday tree for all to enjoy.”
“There was music, candy canes, and even Santa made an appearance! Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or just the time to come together with family and friends. This really is a magical time in our borough, and we’re so grateful to Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Marty Maher and our partners at National Grid, Ponce Bank, Urbanspace, Uber, Target, and Brooklyn for All for helping us bring the cheer to Brooklyn,” said the politician.
BP Reynoso, also reminded persons that community board applications remain open until Feb. 14, 2023, for anyone interested in getting in at the grassroots of local government and learn more about how to have a greater say in everything from bike lanes to housing.
