Brian Lara to coach IPL Team in 2022
Legendary West Indies batsman Brian Lara has signed on by Sunrisers Hyderabad as the franchise’s strategic advisor and batting coach for this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.
Lara, 52, joins a new-look support staff that also sees the addition of former Indian cricketer Hermang Badani in a duel role of fielding coach and scout.
The former West Indies captain scored 11,953 Test runs with an average of 52.88 and is the holder of the world Test batting record of 400 not out.
He also scored 10, 404 ODI runs, before he retired from all forms of cricket on April 21, 2007, when he played his last ODI match against England, while his last Test was against Pakistan in 2006 after his debut on 1990.
