We wake up today to elections for the 13th Parliament of Guyana, after an intense period of campaigning; unlike Jamaica, where the country goes to the polls on Tuesday, there was no leadership or other debate among the candidates from the various political parties asking Guyanese to entrust them with the reins of leadership for the next five years.
