Connecticut-based promoter upbeat about hosting first event in Jamaica

After a decade of hosting events in the tri-state area, Marlon “Famous” Pinnock, principal of LUST All White Gala, says his team is excited about producing their first event in Jamaica, billed as “LUST All White Jamaica (swimwear edition)”, on Dec. 28 at Pearly Beach in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

“It was a natural step for us to bring ‘LUST All White Jamaica’ party home – to the heart of dancehall culture for our 10th anniversary,” the Jamaican-born, Connecticut-based promoter told Caribbean Life on Monday.

Famous said confirmed performers are dancehall DJs Tommy Lee Sparta, a former member of Vybz Kartel Portmore Empire, and Nhance, who made his Reggae Sumfest debut this past summer, the same day his son died.

Chromatic, Famous International, Hyperactive Sound, Illusion, and Team Shella Evahot will provide music.

“Having Nhance and Tommy Lee Sparta confirmed to perform is a huge deal for LUST and speaks to the caliber of the event,” Famous said.

“This anniversary event is set to be a game-changer not only for us but for partygoers in Jamaica, and we are beyond excited to bring a unique experience to the island for the very first time,” he added. “We’re expecting a massive turnout from local and international attendees.”

This past summer, at the LUST All White Gala—Caribbean Festival 10-Year Anniversary celebration in Connecticut, over 3,000 patrons partied to the music of Noah Powah, DJ Polish, Famous International, DJ Ecko, and DJ Muka, Famous said.

He said dancehall star Masicka – known for hits “Most Wanted,” “They Don’t Know,” “Top Form,” “Tyrant,” and “Hit & Run” with Shenseea – performed live.

Famous said he wanted to reassure patrons that adding popular social media influencer Dancing Rebel as event host is “a calculated decision that will not hurt the LUST brand in any way.

“We understand that Dancing Rebel has recently been in the spotlight due to an unfortunate incident,” he said. “We believe this will not hinder our event but will only add to the anticipation of the event.

“Rebel is known for her vibrant energy, undeniable talent, and deep connection to her fanbase,” he added. “She has a loyal following that respects her authenticity and undeniable talent, and her presence as our event host will only amplify the excitement.”
