Final call – Democracy now?
With days to electing the next president of the United States of America the deadline to registering for the 2024 elections, early voting and deciding democracy nears.
That 270 electoral votes will ultimately factor almost negates a need to trek to the polls.
One candidate promises if elected he guarantees no more elections, reprisals to those who oppose him and drastic immigration reforms.
The other claims a change with restrictions resounding a catchy phrase of never going back. She also claims reparations of maladies in disrepair.
Vice President Kamala Harris has been endorsed by a group of bipartisan influencers comprised of 714 former national security and military officials.
In a letter, they wrote:”the contrast with Mr. Trump is clear: where VP Harris is prepared and strategic, he is impulsive and ill-informed,” the letter read.
Endorsed by former secretary of state and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, as well as every Democratic president, the former Republican Vice President Mike Pence, 10 retired military officials, 200 declared conservative Republicans: Sens. Mitt Romney, former VP Dick Cheney, Anthony Scaramucci, former Trump’s White House communication director, 17 staff members under the Ronald Reagan administration, former FBI and CIA director William Webster who worked under Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush they all co-signed the endorsing document.
“We expect to disagree with Kamala Harris on many domestic and foreign policy issues, but we believe that she possesses the essential qualities to serve as president and Donald Trump does not.
We therefore support her election to be president.”

The Republican candidate has been mostly endorsed by billionaires.
A list includes Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, actors Jon Voight, Kelsey Grammer, Scott Baio, Roseanne Barr, entertainers Kid Rock, Kanye West, Hank Williams, Mike Tyson, wrestler Hulk Hogan, former football player Herschel Walker, boxing promoter Don King, Olympian Caitlyn Jenner and actor James Woods. Representing those celebrities convinced of the Make America Great Again Promise they are staking their reputations on the mantra.
Recently a religious group using the moniker Souls To The Polls mobilized to encourage voter turnout for Harris.
Along with Athletes for Harris, the celebrity assemblies for the first Black, female commander in chief include fans of pop princess Taylor Swift — Swifties for Harris and numerous iterations following the lead of influencers Jimmy Kimmel, George Clooney, Sally Field, Mark Hamill, Spike Lee, Tina Knowles, John Legend, Cardi B, Shonda Rhimes, Bruce Springsteen, Martha Stewart, Barbra Streisand and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
Fans grouped as Hollywood for Harris are also boldly stating a preference for the history-seeking first female candidate.
The stakes are high.
Perhaps the highest ever verbalized in political campaign statements.
Oct. 26 offers the last hope to uncommitted unregistered citizens who must decide which way forward.
It all boils down to believing which candidate best serves the interests of the majority.
Which way America?
Time’s almost up.

What in the world is going on?
This is the question whirling throughout the big blue bubble.
Recently when weather forecasters predicted the worst storm ever, rumors of a disappearing moon and Biblical quotations preceded the Florida landfall arrival of Hurricane Milton.
Astonishingly, an onslaught of disastrous videos also flooded social media platforms.
Fraught with images depicting death and destruction some graphically frightened viewers that the Sunshine State was no more.
As some home-owners heeded the warning to evacuate certain areas and others fled north, were it not for the audio sounds of Godzilla’s wailing calls on a few of the obvious artificial intelligence generated distributions one would have been convinced that roofs were flying off their hinges, palm trees crashed down on cars, roads washed into the sea and the worst imagined fears were realized.
That such misinformation could be dispensed to already distressed individuals seemed a misuse of the principles the constitution permits. But there it was, pervasive and accessible by a click.
Fortunately, storm troopers quickly quashed the fears by debunking the destructive alarms — which mostly emanated from outside the continental U.S.
The falsified images arrived before reports of the coastal arrival.
Families of diasporans were relieved by the televised news that a downgraded category three Hurricane Milton was not as predicted.
Milton was not the category five monstrosity weather experts predicted.
Still, tornadoes, high winds, and flood rains caused enormous damage and reported 24 casualties.
Relief continues as President Joe Biden allocated $612 billion in aid from FEMA.
Good citizenry prevails providing comfort and optimism.
