La’Mode BK: Where Caribbean and Asian fusion delights meet
La’Mode BK is not just a restaurant; it’s a journey through diverse culinary traditions, a blend of vibrant flavors and a celebration of the modern and trendy.
Located at 1401 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11216, in the heart of Crown Heights, this remarkable establishment was founded by the visionary Amanda St. Louis-Brown, 46, a Brooklyn resident, talented chef and seasoned New York real estate agent, originally hailing from the enchanting spice island of Grenada.
Her culinary prowess and passion for her roots form the essence of La’Mode BK.
Alongside St. Louis-Brown, her devoted husband, Aval Brown, shares in the ownership and brings his unique insights to the table.
They are joined by the enterprising Bryan Lewis, forming a dynamic trio steering the ship of La’Mode BK.
Together, they recently marked a momentous milestone, celebrating six months in business last Sunday, Nov. 4.

“La’Mode BK has quickly become a cherished treasure in the neighborhood, delighting its patrons with delicious, quality cuisine crafted fresh daily,” St. Louis-Brown told Caribbean Life.
“From small weddings to intimate dinner parties and lively birthday celebrations, the restaurant caters to all, offering a space where every moment becomes a memorable occasion,” she added.
This family-owned and operated gem is the brainchild of St. Louis-Brown and her husband, who bring a unique blend of expertise to the culinary world.
“The name ‘La’Mode’ perfectly encapsulates the restaurant’s philosophy — being current, modern, trendy, classy in cuisine, and fashionable in the experience it provides,” St. Louis-Brown said. “La’Mode BK is not just a restaurant; it’s an embodiment of positivity and joy. Dining here is an opportunity to celebrate life’s moments.
“The restaurant and bar provide the ideal setting for everyone to bring their A-game and savor every moment to the fullest,” she added.
Driven by her Caribbean roots and a passion for cooking, St. Louis-Brown said the journey began, as she embarked on a global quest to explore culinary traditions.
She said her travels unveiled the rich tapestry of flavors and ingredients across various countries.

Inspired by the fusion of these diverse influences, St. Louis-Brown said she resolved to bring this concept to the vibrant neighborhood of Brooklyn.
The menu at La’Mode BK is a culinary masterpiece, offering an enticing fusion of Caribbean and Asian cuisines.
From the mouthwatering jerk chicken, basil fried rice to an array of steamed and pan-fried dumplings, from Caribbean-infused oxtails to zesty orange chicken and vegan-based corn soup, St. Louis-Brown said each dish is “a testament to the dedication and attention to detail of our chefs.”
“We use only the freshest ingredients and a meticulously selected array of spices to ensure the authenticity and depth of flavor in every dish,” she said.
“La’Mode BK is not just a restaurant; it’s a symphony of flavors, a testament to dedication, and a place where culinary dreams take flight,” St. Louis-Brown added. “Come, join us, and be part of the journey where the Caribbean and Asia collide in a harmony of taste and delight.”
