Harbour View-Dunbeholden heads up start of Caribbean Cup

The 2023 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup kicks off Wednesday with a Group B encounter involving domestic rivals Harbour View and Dunbeholden of Jamaica meeting at Sabina Park Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

CONCACAF said on Monday that the match will mark the debut of Lenny Hyde as Head Coach of Dunbeholden, a team that finished as runners-up to Harbour View in the 2022 Jamaican National Premier League.

“Dunbeholden will be making their first foray into CONCACAF competition and will be turning to new striker Nicholas Nelson for goalscoring inspiration,” said CONCACAF in a statement.

It said Nelson scored seven goals for Molynes last season and 10 the season before in 2022. In defense, veteran and Jamaican National Team player Ricardo Thomas is an anchor.

CONCACAF said Harbour View are guided by Head Coach Ludlow Bernard “and will be looking to conjure up some of the magic they had in 2004 and 2007 when they won the CFU Club Championship.”

“One of the key pieces for Harbour View is MF Jahshaun Anglin, who has several caps with the Jamaican National Team and at age 22 is a player on the rise in the Caribbean,” CONCACAF said.
