Women players lack consistency

West Indies Women’s Head Coach, Courtney Walsh has said that batters lack consistency and they have to step up for the upcoming series. He expects a few players to step up and fill the void left by the absence of leading wicket-taker Anisa Mohammed and premier batter, Deandra Dottin for the upcoming tour of the Caribbean, which starts in Antigua this week.

The West Indies will host the “White Ferns” for the first time since 2014, playing three ODIs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and five T20s in October at the same venue.

Walsh believes that the impending home home series and a couple other tours present the West Indies women ample opportunity to sharpen up ahead of the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup.
He acknowledged that the West Indies women will be hindered with the loss of the leading wicket-taker Mohammed, who announced she was taking a six month sabbatical form the sport, as well as prolific batter Dottin.
