Jussie Smollett returns to music, with the newly crowned #1 single, “Some Things.” This marks the former Empire star’s first #1 single. Inspired by the music Smollett grew up on, the actor and his music partner, David Ott, created a song that encourages everyone to grab their loved ones and dance. “Some Things” is available wherever music is sold and streamed now. Smollett’s directorial debut, B-Boy Blues, the film adaptation of James Earl Hardy’s best-selling novel, is available now on BET +.
Calling all P-Valley fans, Nicco Annan, who plays Uncle Clifford on the hit Starz series, is also part of a new interview web series, “A Mile In These Shoes.” Annan attended the premiere of the show on July 27 in downtown Los Angeles, California. Following the screening of the series that brings a refreshing take on one’s love for shoes and how it connects humanity through the unique stories of distinct individuals across the globe, Annan and other cast members participated in a Q&A session and after party, which boasted a shoe cam, food truck, open bar and appetizers.

In celebration of its 23rd anniversary, the premier celebrity/amateur and professional tournament presented NBA Legend Alonzo Mourning with its’ prestigious True Original Award. Celebrity tournament attendees included retired New York Knicks player John Starks, actor Alex Thomas, rapper Ja Rule, broadcast journalist Roland Martin, LPGA professional golfers Lakareber Abe and Sadena Parks, PGA professional golfers Olajuwon Ajanaku and Louis Kelly.
