Bounce, the popular broadcast and multi-platform entertainment network serving Black Americans, recently unveiled its upcoming original programming schedule. The lineup features an all-new original series about Black women that is written, produced, directed by, and starring Black women, “Finding Happy.” The show is a dramedy following the Black female experience through the unfulfilled life of Yaz Carter, played by B. Simone. Other cast members include Kim Coles, Marketta Patrice, Angela Gibbs, Steve Baggs Jr. and Mike Merrill. Kendra Jo serves as the showrunner/writer and co-creator along with Yasmine Coleman and Angela Wells. Cedric the Entertainer is among the show’s executive producers.
Hollywood producer Sean Reid is at the helm of World One TV as co-founder and president to spearhead a global and diverse platform of over 300 hours of content that focus on pre-existing Black American cinema, alongside partners, actor and producer Brian White and entertainment attorney Christopher Brown. The new subscription streaming service will focus on documentary pieces and feature films by entertainment luminaries Kevin Hart, TD Jakes, Cuba Gooding Jr., Tiffany Haddish, Drake, and Beyonce’…Reid, whose extensive television experience includes management roles at E! News Live, Fox, the TV Guide Channel and production credits on projects produced by Tyler Perry and Will Packer, has earned him a reputation for combining story lines and technical savvy to his production skills.
Rappers Young Thug and Gunna have both been named as part of a sprawling indictment in Fulton County, Atlanta, alleging criminal activities in their affiliation with the gang Young Slime Life, aka YSL, according to legal filings attained by Variety. The news was first reported by journalist Michael Seiden at Metro Atlanta News Network WSB-TV. Young Thug was arrested on charges of gang activity and conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) on May 9. Gunna has also been charged with one count of conspiracy to violate RICO. Young Thug’s attorney says his client is innocent and he hasn’t done anything.
According to the Daily Mail, Grammy winner Cardi B and her husband, Migos rapper Offset — took their daughter Kulture to Carbone’s in New York City for dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day on May 8. The Bronx, New York born femcee and her family all wore various articles of neon-green Balenciaga clothing. Cardi wore neon-green shades with $2,150 matching boots, while the Atlanta native wore a jacket to match, with three-year-old Kulture carrying a $2,300 Balenciaga cross-body bag.
