MariLana aka RAS DUMPLING was born, Mary Ann Ferrara, in Long Island, New York. She was immersed in a variety of music from the age of two, singing the now Cardi B “I like It Like That.” she recalls the lyrics “toot toot ahhh beep beep… bang bang…” Her Latin Salsa aficionado dad used to sing this with her in their basement. Mom was an opera and Elvis fan, her sister a Disco fan, and Brother a Heavy Metal Rocker… Mary Ann took to a little bit of everything. She was always a lover of the latest worldwide dance music, not so much techno but more Club, Dancehall Reggae, and the Afro B of today.

Playing drums, piano and dancing as a little girl, she kept her passion kind of private until very recently. “I’ve played percussion or at least clave’ or gord with several famous Latin groups, did a recent “Ras Dumpling” Stylo G Dancehall remake and am so excited about BELIEVE IT, my Afro Hip Hop Trap song fresh out on all digital music platforms.” MariLana had to fight for life to overcome a toxic illness, and plans on celebrating her souls’ rebirth with all of you and share some awesome music all the while! The melody and charitable work is pouring out right now as she goes into the studio to complete “FIRE” a planned trilogy Collaboration with global male artist.
