EmPowerHer to honor prominent Haitian-American entertainment publicist
Marie Driven, the Haitian-American co-founder of the Brooklyn-based entertainment promotion company Playbook MG, will be honored at this year’s EmPowerHer event in New York City.
The prominent entrepreneur and public relations executive has made significant contributions to the music, fashion and lifestyle industries over the past two decades.
Driven told Caribbean Life on Monday that her firm, Playbook MG, specializes in building strategic relationships and supports a diverse clientele that includes mainstream names and niche brands.
She said the EmPowerHer NYC event, organized by Kyle Simpson of The Neighborhood Talk LLC and Malika Manning Marketing, “aims to celebrate and support women entrepreneurs.”
Scheduled for April 24-25, Driven said the event will feature panels, honorary dinners and networking opportunities “designed to inspire and empower women across various fields.”
Other honorees include sports agent Amber Sabathia, media personality Angela Yee, and CEO Pinky Cole, among others.
Driven said this inaugural event will also provide educational resources and opportunities for young and aspiring female entrepreneurs.
“Supported by sponsors like The Zeus Network, NYC City Hall and Camille Rose, these partnerships herald the beginning of a long-term legacy of cultural celebration and empowerment for women entrepreneurs worldwide,” she said.
“The positive response to the event underscores its mission-driven focus, offering not only a celebration but also a source of inspiration for future generations,” Driven added.
