Brooklyn DA’s office offers cash, iPads for guns
Brooklyn District Attorney, Eric Gonzalez is collaborating with several agencies, to host a Cash and iPad for Guns initiative, on Saturday, May 21, as politicians and the New York Police Department ramp-up ways to end gun violence that continues to disrupt communities across America.
The no questions asked, one-day gun giveback will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 279 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn. The event will run from 10 am – 4 pm.
Sponsored by the Kings County DA’s Office, the New York City Police Department, NYC Police Foundation and Junior’s Restaurant & Bakery, the initiative will give persons an opportunity to hand over weapons in return for one iPad per person, subject to availability on a first-come first-served basis.
Others will receive a $200 bank card and iPad for operable handguns and assault rifles. A $25 bank card will be handed over for rifles, shotguns and air guns.
The DA’s Office that has held several give-back events, will continue to reach out to communities to curb the ongoing violence in New York City.
